Welcome to Rode Rage Farr 40!
Journey began with our last Rode Rage, the Beneteau 36.7. Farr designed Racer Cruiser.
We had a very successful journey with the 36.7. Winning most OD regattas and many PHRF races over 3 years. The 36.7 is exceptionally well built, sturdy, forgiving and super fun upwind. She suffers off the wind due to the weight of State-rooms, full head, shower, fully galley and cruising comforts.
Next: I’ve always admired the Farr 40 for the simplicity of the build, the reputation for fun, speed and giant sail plan which makes for a super sporty OD boat as well as off-shore abilities. One became available and I jumped!
I’m convinced there is more fun and performance to be had offshore, adding sails, controls and hardware to add effective sailing angles needed for offshore success. We’ll run Class Symmetrical sails, Asymmetrical as well as code sails off the pole and from a short sprit for advantages of both!
2024 so far has been a steep learning curve for us, but learn we have! All new instruments, new A-Sails and a bow sprit are coming in 2024 as well as upgraded running rigging and tuned standing rigging.
Crew: We are seeking crew with steady comittment, knowledge of sailing and boat handling as well as great attitudes! This is not really a boat for newbies to sailing, we’ve tried, but lean to sail first you must. HOWEVER! We do encourage non keel-boat or dingy racers to take the leap and learn on a super fun, fast and flexible Gran Prix Racer!
